I'm going to replace the oil filter on my 250f and was wondering whether oem is better than aftermarket. If not, which brand of aftermarket should I buy? Also, is it a good idea to replace the filter at regular intervals or is cleaning sufficient?

Twin Air makes a very good filter that is less expensive than the OEM version.

if you are using a paper element filter always replace it never clean it.

if you have a stainless screen filter clean it good each time.

We clean (now are using stainless screens)/replace (when we used disposable we used an after market) our 250f filters every other race weekend. Keep in mind that we also change the oil every weekend (or 2 to 3 hours practice at most) many will scream this is overkill but ask Rich how clean our motors are inside when he gets in there to play. I would rather spend the small amount on oil rather then a major rebuild
