I have a friend that is thinking of going orange. He is talking with the dealer about a SX450.
He will be using this bike for enduros and hare scrambles.
The dealer said he would put on an E-start and some handguards for a price around 7k .
Does this sound like a good deal ???
Will the 4 speed transmission be a disadvantage in the off-road enviornment???
How about the suspension, is it adequate for offroad, or will it need a revalve immediately ???
He can't spring for the extra $$$ for the EXC or MXC models.
Any input at all , would be appreciated.

450EXC's can be had for that price.

The sx model is 30lbs lighter than the other two. He can also add a 5th & 6th gear down the line for under $500 installed if he needs more. I just found an 02' 520 sx for $4900 so tell him to keep searching.
