What is the best way to properly clean and lube a chain.Picked up an older cr and the only thing that looks like it needs care is the chain.

Wait, this thread has been alive for over a day and Jaybird hasn't gotten here yet? He must not be feeling well :)

I just got this chain cleaning gizmo from Rocky Mtn.- it runs the chain through some solvent and a set of scrub brushes and oh man that chain is sparkly clean. Best $25 I ever spent with 5 bikes to maintain!

I want one of those. Everytime I go to rockymountainmc.com it's out-of-stock. I'm glad I've heard how it works. Now there is no doubt in my mind to purchase it.

Here it is.

Forget the bottle of "sludge away" that comes with it, go to harbor freight and get their blue degreaser, $5 gallon, or even wd40 works pretty good in it.
