hey guys,
i am wondering what is needed to do a cylinder bore job on your own. i have seen it demonstrated in class and it seems like all you need is a cylinder bore, a hone, and an inside micrometer? Also, at what time do you need to go to a bore job instead of a hone? What is the best way to drive your bore? and how much do they cost......any thing would help, ive got so many cylinders that need it right now this would be cheaper for me. Thanks guys.

I know it is a bad idea to bore a cylinder yourself because it is easy to bore with the wrong angle. You need the rig to clamp your cylinder at 90 degree. I've had an old cylinder bored by a friend and after he did the job, the cylinder was blowing up because it was bored at a sideway angle. It took a while before I found what was going on and I didn't save any money in the end.
