I know this is the wrong web site for my question but since I hoped we would all have a love for alll things motorized I figured I'd still ask Does anybody know where I can get plans to make a Corvair powered dune buggy for free or relatively inexpensive? I've got the engine/transaxle and will soon have wheels and some other necessary items, just need plans for the chassi.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't help you on your buggy plans but if you post your question over on the boards at www.glamisonline.com they might be better able to answer your question. I have a VW buggy and thats were I go if I need buggy info.

go here http://harlee47.tripod.com/adm/popu...ype=POPUP&id=e5e2cdfe1802b5d7a2495214d45cf678
This page has a little info. It does not have the plans word for word but does show you how to build the frame but what size you want it and how you want it to look is up to you. The engine you have will get you along well when it only has to pull a lot less weight. Also before you weld it up make sure it is all square and double check all your measurments.

Not so much 'plans' out there (free) as there are good things to look at and get ideas.

I've bought plans from these guys for various silly projects. (you don't have a soul if you don't think these creations would be the 'shiz' to drive around town towing a bike trailer).

Here are some other good 'look at' pages:

http://www.sandrail.com/

These should get you on the track to salivation!!! :)
