Friends header pipe is CRACKED! Any way to patch it?

Its a pretty big crack.. enough that its spewing smoke out when running, so we're both assuming its not a good idea to run it. Is there any way to patch it up with something? Has anyone tried something like this, or is it probably just a good excuse to get an aftermarket pipe?

it can be fixed. If you are even remotely handy with a oxy/acetylene torch, you could fix it in no time.

A picture would make it easier to diagnose, as well.
