I just purchased a 2004 crf80 for my daughter. It fired right up and didnt seem to make the noise im hearing now when I bought it. I got it home and chagne the oil, gas, cleaned air filters, and all the general maintenance needed. After firing it up it I am hearing a fairly loud ticking in the valve cover area. The bike runs really well but it continues throughout the acceleration. I used the honda 20/50 oil that i use in both our crf150 and crf50. Ok maybe its to thick, but here the temp is in the 90s. I drained it and went to 10/40 and got the same loud ticking. I have no clue how hard this bike has been run but is it possible the valves need adjusting only being two years old? If so are there any links you can reccommend as i did a search and there is nothing about the crf80s. Sorry to be so long but any help would be appreciated. I feel fairly confortable doing it but want someones opinion on this having so much valve clatter to only be a couple of years old. Thank you. :bang:
