My KYB AOS forks are longer than normal

Looking at my bike the other day (KX450) something didn't seem right with the forks, there was a noticable increase in their length. I measured the polished inner tube portion and compared to a new fork and they are about 1.25 inches longer than a new fork.

Can this be possable, is there any chance of them seperating?

I am planning on taking them apart because something is definately wrong!

not to be too obvious, but is your bike sitting on a stand versus the other bike sitting on the floor using a sidestand?

Nope, bike was on triangle stand but i did find what seemed to be an excessive amount of air built up in one of the forks.

I bleed the forks occasionally and have never seen that much air rush out......???
