I have a TTR125LE and I was wondering if it would be ok to shift from neutral to 2nd gear without going to 1st gear first. The order of gears is 1st, neutral, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. When you shift to 2nd gear you have to go through neutral so I was wondering if it would be ok just to skip 1st gear altogether and start at 2nd.

BTW I just got my dirt bike a few days ago and I don't really know anything about dirt bikes. Also, I've never been on a motorcycle before this.

Your shift pattern is a international one. 1 down and four up. Like 426, said you need a steady clutch and good throttle control. To make your 2nd gear starts better go with a bigger rear sproket.

dont even worry about the sprocket at this time. shifting up from first to second while moving should not bother neutral but starting from second is no problem either. just give it some extra gas and you will be just fine. as you ride more and get b etter you will learn all the tricks of the trade so keep at it.
