Ok 1978 Yamaha DT100. Resto project for this winter.
I wanted to get it running and driving before the tear down.
So it did not take me long to get it running fairly well. A few parts were missing, etc.
So I get it running. Let it warm up good.
Pull the clutch lever in.. Tap it down into 1st gear.. the bike jumps ahead.
Did not think much about it at first. Rode it for a bout 5 min. Parked it to check a few things, and adjust the clutch cable.
Well here's where things get to me.
I adjust the clutch cable, back and forth. Still nothing. I can not get it to release to ride...
I can start & run the engine... In gear, clutch out and it moves not an inch.
So can these cables stretch that much? Or do I have an actual clutch plate issue?
Could the oil in the case contribute to this?
What Oil should I run in the case?
The bike sat awhile. Inside a garage.
Could the clutch plates not be opening and closing? Stuck together?
How do I fix this?
Any help would be great...
Thanks
