my reed valves have been in my bike since it was bought brand new. im the second owner. its a 1999 cr250r. i saw there are different looks og the reed valves. some are one solid piece, some have slits in them. will i have to adjust anything if i get something other than the oem style?could old junk reed valves cause me not to hit my power band? thanks for any help.

you should probably buy new ones if those are the original. they loose there flex and and you can loose performance. if i was you i would go for a set of boysen super stock or if your looking for something expensive the vforce 3 reeds work really nice.

Bad reeds will give you hard starting and a loss of low end power. If they haven't been replaced since the bike was new you'll see a huge difference with just replacing them with OEM and you won't have to mess with the jetting.
