after 19 years in the same place, I am going in this morning, and quitting. it is no longer the company that i started with, nor can it change enough to keep me. I have good refs, and a outstanding repoir in the communitiy. meaning, i am gonna stay home for a couple of months and find out who the hell i am! I do have one piece of advice for some of you. If you hear of your employer enrolling in a micro management class, START LOOKING! It only means your boss has fallen into the socialist party! look for communist rule to be close at hand as well.
Momma "G" has heard it for at least three solid years that I am quitting, but I primed them last friday, and she knows I am doing it.

Congrats! Not much worse than a job you hate considering you spend about 1/3 of your waking hours doing it.

Nothing does the soul quite as much good as a serious change of pace. Especially after 19 years. I'd like to quit too. But the bank still wants me to pay for my house. Imagine the nerve!

Well good for you! I hope it all works out for you...there's no need to spend your time in a job that makes you miserable (if you can afford to get out that is)..Best of luck with it all!

Best of luck, Rick! Man, you've got guts to go forward AND take time off to gel and contemplate. I would give anything to take a 2 month hiatus from my job, but we're all expendable and I'm sure they'd find someone else to take my place (although I'm convinced they would fail miserably without me...lol)

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you and Momma G and the boys.

Best of luck. I quit my job of almost 8 yrs just a month ago. I had quite the exit interview. I pretty much let out all the crap the bothered me. I went with a group of guys that split from my old company a few months ago. We are now a small business. Its been an interesting couple of last months for me. I didn't like the management at my last place at all. Most of the good guys had been layed off or quit. It was not the same place I started either. I'm much happier now.

Good luck and hope you find something good. I'm leaving my job after being there 27 years. Nobody there knows yet (well at least there and if they get in this site the wildfire will start, LOL). Ha, ha...again, lots of luck!
