Eddie - you've seen my trailer..... Do you really think I'd have a problem with water, restrooms or any other facilities :p And, it would be sooo much easier to get my trailer into Moonrocks than Elkins Flat....

Hope to see you and Aimee there,

Brian

When is President's day weekend? 15,16,17??? If so, then the 14th would be the first ride day for the early birds. Last year we rode Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday being the biggest day.

Good to see you around again Strick. :)

Oh man, you guys are killin' me. I found myself looking at the calendar and checking out Peppermill rates!

The only way I could see this happening for us is to fly in. Maybe FJ will go and have some loaner bikes..... like a KTM250RFS!! :)

It kills me to think about missing this event after being there for the first two years. It really is a gathering that is right up there with DW. It's DW with roulette! Who could ask for anything more?! :)

Hi, gospeedracer!
It's still hard for me to think that you are in St. Luis. I was talking about you with Kali in Stonyford on Saturday. Then I watched the baseball game between Giants and Cardinals yesterday. I thought of you TWICE on last weekend!!
Anyway, it would be wonderful if you and TTRGuy could make it.

What about nonriding spouses? My wife loves to gamble and would probably like to tag along.

RMJeff; Reno/Tahoe is recreation unlimited. There is a LOT for non riders to do. Shop, ski, gamble, golf (weather permitting), fish, hunt, I think you can see there are numerous activies. I would hope that she too, would enjoy herself. Keep in mind there are always lots of post ride activites

I sure am glad I sealed the deal with Motohead00 before you rode this bike - LOL!! You can borrow it anytime you want, just come on out here!!

NVR FNSH - I have seen your Taj Mahal of an RV and I can't believe you got it up to Ragdump, much less Elkins Flat, but seriously you should stay at the hotels so you can be in all that gambling action!!

Who wants to hang out at the craps table!!?? :yeehaw:

Mojo - This event was started by the ladies of DRN. I just helped out with recommending a place to ride. Then it got OUT of hand - in a good way. The Ladies Valentine's Day spodefest has been in February historically, so it will stay there.

As far as another ride in Oct/Nov.; our local desert racing series is still going on then, so it is hard to schedule. Even with the VDS, I miss the first race of the season, but it is well worth it! Also DRN Dirtweek in always in October, so don't want any overlap there either. The members need to have a few months to re-fill their wallets anyway.

I am willing to ride in your area or you (and friends) here anytime. Just let me know.

It's your credit card, you tell me what cuisine, and I'll make the reservations. :debil:

This time we'll get a room big enough for everyone. :|

For all those that want to save $$ and camp in their rigs but maybe not at moonrocks there is this sweet little camping resort right across the street from the Peppermill. It was clean and only $20/night with full hookups and facilities. We will be staying there again this year.

I have the name of the place at work. I will post it when I get there in the morning.

Hopefully we can make it, too!! Depending on Justin's enduro schedule (I think the Quicksilver also falls on President's Day weekend and Justin is determined to finish it this year.) We will check our schedule's and see how things go!

Well well well... Look who decided to grace us with his presence. Strick, I was wondering what it would take to get you around these parts again. I heard you have been busy restoring a classic truck or something?

Me and Roger (bluethumper) are planning on making it back down again. I think this year we are bringing our better halves (or quarters I should say). :) They are gonna shop and sight see during the day. They will then join us for dinner and the night time festivities. I believe that Sirthumper said he was gonna try and make another one also. I sure did hear the Reno ride thrown out alot at DirtWeek.

For those of you east of the rockies that are considering coming out. Its a blast. There is nothing in this world like riding in a wet desert. It is very very confidence inspiring and guarnteed to give you smiles from ear to ear.... If you are even considering it ya might as well just gas the rig up and roll. I know I get a little carried away talking about this ride and the desert and all but this ride is just too fun its kinda like a club med Dirtweekend. You can be ripin down a wash, and an hour later soakin in a hot tub at a 5 star hotel...... Put me on the list.

Im aways away but what ever you need just let me know. More than willing to haul the porta johns again. You should have seen the looks me and Roger got rolling down the highway. 2 bikes in the back pulling a trailer with 2 porta potties. People must have thought that we took our riding real serious. 2 bikes, 2 porta potties and 2 fat bassturds..........

Come on Febuary..........

Yes my bestest buddy from Idaho. You really do have an ear to my pipeline. Yep the '36 took all my attention for a while. Add that to the fact that Reno had record high temperatures most of the summer, and riding, and even thinking about riding, was OUT.

You and the crew BETTER make it! I may even consider not hosting the event if you didn't come. And yes, please bring the whole bunch. You guys are great fun, and GREAT riders.

People I hate to blow the desert horn like 380, but there is NOTHING like moist desert to ride in/on. You will come away smiling and a better rider.

See ya on Valentine's Day!

Man,

Go to work and look at what happens!

We are on our way to make this thread longer than last years, and that one was huge!
I have already spoke to some friends (non-drn) and looks like I will be bringing some new faces along for the ride. :thumb:
And to anyone wanting to attend but do not have a bike (Okie, TTrguy and Speedy) if i still have my 250F its all yours! If its gone, I have other bikes in mind. So come on out!

The name of the RV Campground I was refering to earlier is:

Silver Sage RV Park
2760 South Virginia St.
Reno, NV 89502
(888) 823-2002

This place is very simple. It is all pavement with full hookups and clean
facilities.

Count me in for now. As long as I can hook up with someone to share driving duties, I'm there. Last year things just kept changing and I finally had to back out. Hopefully this year I can make a concrete decision and stick to it! :)

I'm gonna start putting out the feelers ASAP, but I have a feeling it is going to be Motohead00 and myself again.

My fingers are crossed!

Hey Lou, I don't remember if you have a trailer or not but I just had an idea. If I could get my bike to you before the ride, what are the chances you or Randy (if he goes with you) could take it out there for me?

Desert = GOOD :) :)

Where's Ellen?!! E-Ticket, the ant?? Longtime, you going to make it man?
I sure hope Endoquest and Bonehead can make it again too.

Firelily, it would be a blast to ride with you again. This time you'll have to show me how to get down that hill like you do! :scream:

Best Reno quote: "We're 300lbs! We don't need no sweaters!"

Brian - A trailer? So thats what the Home & Shop combo on wheels is referred to as. Talk about factory rigs :thumb:

Would you feel safe leaving it out there while in town doing group supper or casino festivities? I'm not trying to dissuade anyone here, just bringing up points for people who may not have been there or know what to expect.
