weak spark?

i just put together a yz motor and got the ignition off "an auction site" . I grounded the coil to check for spark. to me it seemed kind of weak. is that normal? pulled the plug and put it up to the motor and got a very little spark. The timing is set to factory spec. anyone help?

Unfortunately that just might be why it was up for auction. Hope that i am wrong and it is just a bad connection somewhere
