Where to get the best deal on a 2001/2002 KX250?

I'm currently considering the purchase of a new bike and am looking for a "good" deal. I live in Houston, TX and dealers here just don't want to move off of MSRP. The closest Yamaha dealer to where I live has three 2001 YZ250s and they won't sell for any less than $5899.00.

Anyway, back to my original topic. It seems that dealerships in other states offer killer deals on KX's. Are any board members familiar with a dealership that has left over 2001 models and what prices they may be asking? (Actually, KX, YZ, CR...model doesn't matter, I just hate to pay full MSRP.)

Also, has anyone purchased a bike from Cylce Trader that's listed as "New, in the box?" They have 2002 KX250's for $4600.00. I'm just not sure if this is legit.

Those ads may be legit, and from what I have heard, they are. No tax, just a shipping fee. Contact Gary Semics. He rents kawasakis and sells them at the end of the year. He gave me a quote of around 3100 for his 2001 rental 125's. Pretty good bikes too. He has 2 250's for sale too. A 2000 that is built and a 2001 that is basically stock. www.gsmxs.com

I bot my 01 KX 250 from The Great Outdoors Store in Jackson, Tn. Saw their ad in cycle trader. Called them and got it for 4700.00 out the door. Drove over from DFW one day and back the next.

I bought my new RM250 from one of those Cycle Trader ads. At least one is legit, and everything went great. Was actually looking to buy a KX, but couldn't resist the deal on the RM ($4300) The guy, Marcus, I bought from is at 360 398-1260. He brought the bike in from a Canadian shop. You've probably seen his ads for KX's and similar. Ordered the bike on a Thursday and had it by Tuesday morning.

Just bought a new 01 kx250 from hayward kawasaki for 5090 otd.. Thought it was a cool deal for being in california where everything is WAY overpriced.. Might try giving them a call.........
