A sequel will never be as good as the original. I try to stay away, haven't watched the second yet, but probably will if I ever have the chance.

i agree with elliot, its rare that the sequel is as good as the original, but with The Lord of the Rings and this movie( possibly others, too), i can make an exception. the humor in this one is better than the original, too.

I don't remember the first one all to well, and watched the second one about 3 times to get it. I'm the type of person that is watching a movie and get sidetracked.... Never really do watch too many movies until the end, when I do I get disappointed anyway (Taledega Nights). Good ones though they are. Seems like a 3rd one is in the works.

In the first pirates movie, Johnny Depp was kinda cool and funny.

In the sequel, he was just...well........umm...effeminate.. :uh:

It was funny at first, the kids were hillarious. The end just sucked. The whole gay french man thing and church kids were a little too much to take. The end sucked sooo badly. But I can relate to the kid in the beginning. "You better shut your mouth, I'm all jacked up on Mountian Dew!" :rotfl:

Sorry about jacking your thread, just make sure you only watch the first half of Talledega Nights, even if you really like movies. BTW, any expected release date for the 3rd one?

I saw the second one and it really sucked. You say the special effects were good, but the copy we saw was a bootleg we bought in Peru for $2. It was videotaped in a theater, it kind of killed the special effects.
