Are wiseco pistons as good as oem? I can get a whole wiseci piston kit for not much more than a Kawi piston or should I spring for the oem stuff. I know thier sled pistons are better than oem but not sure about the bike ones.

Your kidding right? Yeah...they are more consistant than the OEM pistons and everyone uses them when doing a piston change. :)

Just remember, being forged, wiseco pistons need more piston to bore clearance than cast, as they expand more as they heat. For the same reason make sure you give the bike plenty of time to warm up before giving it the business.

If you have a 220, definetely switch to a Wiseco, as soon as you can. If you have a 200, the stock piston actually works very well and doesn't seem to be any more prone to exploding than any other brand. :thumb:

I have used Wiseco pistons and rings off and on over the years on various bikes. I am not convinced at all that, generally speaking, they are any better than OEM parts.
