I am looking for information on what yamaha means in thier part number code for the 9th & 10th character. the 9th number means design code and the 10th number indicates how many times the part has been redesigned or changed, does the word "design" refer to cosmetically or mechanically. if I am looking for a used part to fit and function on my bike from another bike, what code in yamahas 12 number sequence cannot be different when comparing 2 seperate part numbers of the same part but from different bike models
