A buddy of mine punched a hole in the clutch cover on his '98 YZ400 when he laid it down on a rock, only to discover that it is made out of plastic. And the Yamaha replacement is around a $160.00.
Does anyone know of a replacement cover that is made of alloy, Aluminum or Magnesium????
Any help is appreciated!

Are you sure it's plastic?!?!?!?! I think it's magnesium. Anywho, I think E-line or/and DSP make a sweet carbon fiber clutchcover for it...

The clutch cover is magnesium, but the plugs on the ignition cover appear to be plastic (or some other cheesy material). Aluminum replacement plugs are available.....don't know if this is of any help.
