I have a problem when starting my bike cold, it revs ridiculously high with the choke on, but won't start without it. Everything seems backwards, at first, I was thinking "airleak" but then it be worse without the choke right? As soon as I shut the choke off, it idles right down. I run the choke at 12 clicks as stock, 162 main, stock pilot, and the stock needle 2 clicks from the top. I am also running a fmf gnarly pipe w/silencer. This carb is also equiped with a powerjet, maybe that could cause problems? i dunno...

any ideas?

I start my 01 with the choke as well. Once it starts to idle down, I release the choke and it runs fine. I have no idea what you mean by "clicks" of the choke. Mine is just a typical plunger type choke.

My 01' does the same thing. Control the revving with the kill switch until you can get down there to shut the choke off. I hate it because it's heck on a cold engine. That's why I manipulate the kill switch.
