01 YZ125 Tripple Tree

Anyone have any idea if a tripple tree from an '01 YZ125 will fit an '00 YZ250 ?

The top clamps have the same part number but the bottom clamp and stem have:
'01 125 = 5DH-23340-M0-00
'00 250 = 5HC-23340-L0-00

I'm not sure what the differences are if any.

If you find a parts site with the OEM part numbers, you can check to see if they match. I checked ProTaper - and the '04-'05 bikes had the part # same for 125/250/250F/450F, but they only go back to '04 on their site....

Doh... looks like you found the part #'s while I was posting... Yeah I noticed on ProTaper too that the top is the same part number for all of their '06-'07 bikes, but the bottom is different.... they also mentioned different offsets, maybe the bottom of stem or bearing is different and/or the bottom of the neck of the frame..... not really sure?

Thanks for the effort nikki. I think I'm going to back out of this deal anyway. This bike is advertised as a 2000 YZ250, but from this pic, it looks more like a 1996 to me. What do you think?

The things that make me believe its a 96 is:
1. The front number plate. It has a background for an 00-01 but the plate itself is the same as a 96.
2. YZ's have not had a white frame since 96.
3. The airbox for a 00-01 is white, this one is blue.

If you ask for the VIN #, I think one of the number/letters determines the model year. I think it might be in another thread here on DRN, so maybe try a search?

But I think you're right. My husband had a '98 YZ 250, all done up Chaparral style like Button and MC, and I don't remember it looking that "old", like the plastics, frame, etc. 99% sure the frame was blue. Plus I also think the white airbox is right for '00-'01, I know my '01 125 had a white airbox, and blue frame.
