02 rm for trial riding..any major problems with that year?

looking at an 02 RM which will be used for off-road riding....since i'm in calif in order to have a 2-stroke and be able to get a "green sticker" its has to be an 02 or older....

i'm in my mid-40's..grew up riding dirt...but been riding sportbikes the last decade or so...

anyway...I want a 2-stroke for a few reasons (easy to work on for one...) and maybe down the road switch to a 4-stroke...

will probably put on a heavier flywheel and do some other mods to get it off road/enduro style riding ready..

I don't need the latest fastest lightest bike out there...i just want some to ease back into it...one of my first real dirt bikes as a kid was a suzuki so i have some brand loyalty for some reason!.....I'm familar with the hit a 2-stroke offers..

so my question is...were there any major problems/issues with 02 RM's that I should look out for...?

have a look in the latest edition of Eric Gorrs book. Although i am a suzuki rider, i would look towards the YZ250 around that year- i remember it was a much better package and you can get a lot of off-road parts for them
