I am debating between these two. I can get a clean '02 with pro-tech suspension for $4,500 or a new '03 for $5,600

Did they change much on the '03? Any major issues with the '02?

the 03 is said to have a better motor which was already top of its class in 02, resoviorless rear brake is a trick addition and the frames been modified to have less rear end harshness. theres a few other mods. i'd go for the new 03, there's nothing like the feel of a new bike its all the little things that when their new make the bike better. the 02 was a sweet bike with no major issuses but the 03 will be the one. sweet.

If your asking if the 03 makes the 02 obsolete no, not even close. Most of the tests I've seen on the '03 say the '02 has better bottom end. They are both killer rides you'll be happy with'em both.

I've taken good test rides on both the 02 and 03. I liked them both and wouldn't have trouble adapting to them at all. NICE running machines. In contrast, I was NOT fond of the 01 YZ250.

IMO, I'd go for a 03; new bikes are just plain nice. You'd be surprised at how much riding a bike can do and still look like new. Of course, it can go the other way, too. If you decide to go new, maybe try some shopping. $5600 is kinda high, IMO.

It looks like I am going for the '02 The guy is throwing in a procicuit pipe and fmf silencer, fat bars, and new tires. Seemed like a good deal for $4500.

Thanks
