03' 250 Sx

I got a chance to see the new 250SX.  Changed to the engine and frame were obvious, and boy does that thing feel light!

I noticed something on top of the carb that's new.  It's not a power jet or TPS, because there's no wires to it.  Can someone enlighten me on what it is?

They might have been planning on TPS and then backed off. The parts book doesn't show anything inside the carb. I haven't opened up the carb yet to see for sure. How many Jap bikes come with a Boyesen Rad valve from the factory? The 250 SX does. Haven't had a chance to ride yet, but did strip down and grease bearings/ loc-tite. The swingarm bolt is hollow with plugs in each end, lots of places where the weight has been reduced. Not sure I like the underfender seat bolt though.They shrunk the size of the gas cap opening to where a quick-fill won't fit, pipe looks kind of vulnerable. I'm going to set it up as a Grand Prix bike, gas tanks look to be an issue.
