Just cranked up my bike after the long winter "fixer up" period and she was loud. I have repacked my silencer but instead of simply rolling the packing over the internal baffle, I packed the material in from the outlet side and just kept packing the materal in until it was ready for the end cap to be installed. I put about 2x the packing I normally use. Why would the bike be louder? I was certain it would help make it more quiet. The only other mod I did was raise the needle 1 clip position to account for the cooler temps...The bike was a bit lithargic so I will be going back to stock. I'm running a 178main 42pilot.
My overall question is, is it possible to repack the mufller to tight?
