'03 bikes shock wiggling back and forth?

After i washed my bike yesterday i was just running over it checking for damage, wear etc. I found that the shock has play in it. like i can push it back and forth from one side to the other.. is this normal.. it is a brand new CR125 not even a month old. If this is not normal how can i fix this?

The shock shoul d"twist" a small amount. No up and down movement.

Think of it like this. If the shock was completly rigid, the stress and sideloads would wear it out in no time. Notice how the extremely low travel shocks on your car or truck are rubber mounted.

Being a new bike, you should probably tak ethe shock off anyway and add some decent lube to the joint/s at each end.
