I was reading the 10 tips for the CRF450 in MXA, and they recommended the next higher spring rates. I weigh 180 and it seems like those springs would be too heavy for my weight. What rates are recommended for 180lb rider with the stock valving?
I was wanting to know if the spring rates for the standard valving are correct for my weight(180lb), or if it would be better with the next higher rate.
I would be very surprised if the 450 needed stiffer springs for 180lb-didnt honda increase rates already from the 02?the 02 i rode was plenty stiff for my 170lb.
Yes, they went up on the rates this year, that why I was wondering why Mxa recommended the next higher rates. Wouldn't the dampening have to be light to require those spring rates for the average(160-180lb) rider?
No 180lb rider needs stiffer springs on a 450-the bike is designed for the larger rider frame in mind.Dont read or listen to MXA-look at the ads-its all its good for.
