03 Yz250f question (frame)

Guys,
Anyone know if a 2003 yz250f frame will fit the parts from an 02 250f ???? Pretty much everything motor, chasis, etc. Cracked my frame and found a perfect 03 frame for sell...Thanks

The part numbers are slightly different. So are the part numbers for the subframe. I have heard that the first 3 characters are model and year significant, but I can't tell you if the parts would work or not.
2002 Frame: 5SG-21101-00-00 - 2002 Subframe: 5SF-21190-00-00
2003 Frame: 5UL-21101-00-00 - 2003 Subframe: 5TA-21190-00-00

Yes it will fit with some modifications. The pivot bolt was changed in 02-05 so you are safe.

Now you will have to modify the frame for the 03 plastic. You will need to make relocation brackets for the tank bolts and cut off the rear brake reservior tab on the frame to use the 03 unit. Bonus item is you get an ignition guard on the 02 frame.

and get that bike in to get the crank changed, yamaha said they were bad...better get it done before its to late...just a tip
