Will an '04 YZ250F frame work on an '03????

Anybody know if a frame from a 2004 YZ250F is the same as a 2003 model. I need to have my '03 powdercoated but I don't want any down time. I can buy a '04 frame, have it coated and then just swap parts if they are the same. Thanks for any help.

go to the Yamaha website and look thru their parts #s to compare.
Sorry that doses not give a definate answer- the part #s are different. I have both bikes and they look identical

The part numbers might differ, but I am almost positive it's a direct swap. Keep an eye on oil line locations, but I believe it's all the same from 2003-up.

My only concerns would be differences in shock overall length, different linkage geometry, different linkage mounting position, and different swingarm length and/or linkage mounting points on swingarm.
Check those part #'s too.

03-04 should be the same. Same rear linkage, swingarm.

Only difference would be the trees (48mm on 04 vs the older 46mm parts) but that is not part of the frame.

05 is a new swingarm, linkage and shock, but I believe all the diameters are the same as the 03-04 parts on the pivot bolts.
