i would go with the sizuki. they seem to be a little more reliable, and starting to work their way up in the shootouts

Both bikes from those years have the exact same valve problems.

There is no difference. Basicaly pic a colour and go.

lets not all confuse him. they both had some issues in 04-05, but that changed for Kawasaki in 06', Suzuki didnt do anything to their 06' 250F, but for 07', they finally changed it for the better. you can find 06' KX250F for pretty darn cheap at least where i live( $3000-$4000). Suzuki and Kawasaki were doing a joint operation on their 250F in 04-05, but that joint was severed for the better in 06' .

Buying used 250F's isn't like buying used 2T's. Most the the 250F's off the floor run well for 1/2 -2/3rd a racing season then get dumped to the used market for new models. My experience with a (new) '05 RMZ250... no post purchase issues at all for 2/3rds the season. New piston/rings... no problem, goes with racing. From there got nikel dimed and $800 additional later sold the thing opting for a 250T. Know what your buying and whom your buying it from. Great bike when they do run right.
Good Luck

KX250Dad.. you've got some seriously slanted opinions on 2T / 4T's.

... Okie, what is it makes you hate me so  What in the above post is seriously slanted? It's a fact, buyer beware when buy used.

Point being made to stephend... be prepared when buying used of post purchase rebuilding costs.

but should i not even bother with the 4 stroke bikes and just go with a honda 250 2T
If the CR85R is what you have presently then I'd suggest backing off the 250T thoughts and align with a 125-144T pending on what your riding (MX opposed trail). Most really like the 4F's, I personally like 4F's just need a little deeper pockets.

Okie... you and I, must be an officer / enlisted man thing.
