Should the the sping plate (plate that retains springs and throw-out bearing) be torqued until it meets pressure plate (towers). Or should there be a gap between spring plate pressure plate.

When I torqued spring plate all the way to pressure plate towers, the springs were completely compressed and hence no clutch movement. I allowed a gap and everything was fine.
I assume the pressure from springs will prevent bolts from backing out.

Thanks

Something is wrong.

Are you sure you have the right springs?
