So i dont have a dirtbike yet (i bug my parents every day :) ) but i do ride my friends TTR 125 and his brothers PW 80 both of which i dont like.

I was just wondering which bike would be better for me: the KX 85 or the KX 100. i know they are two strokes (i am kind of a poser because i dont have one but i know a lot about dirtbikes) thats what i want. Thank You sooooooo much!!!! :aj:

At your size I'd guess the 100 would be a bit on the tall side.

The 85 would work well. It will have about 2.5 to 3x's the power of the TTR 125, so it will be quite a bit different.

What did you not like about those bikes, the height, the lack of power, the inability to turn (TTR)? I expect the 85 would fit you better. But for future reference, I don't like the RC51, or Goldwing, so should I get an R1 or R6? Better information will yield better responses.

A KX85 and a KX100 are both the same basic bike. The 100 (obviously) has a bigger top end and wheels. But other than that they are the same. Buy the one that fits you best and then HANG ON.

my brother has a kx 85 at almost 10y/o, 4'10, and about 90-95lbs.( yes, he is very similar to you) and his kx 85 is perfect for him. the kx 100 wont be as much fun for you as an 85 because youve never hit anything higher than 45mph. before. a 85 is the answer for you.

At 95 pounds the 85 shouldn't be bottoming out. The suspension must be set up very soft. It can be easily adjusted for riders 20-30 lbs heavier than 95 pounds.

The 80 in question is a PW80, in all it's bottoming glory.
Now, if by too big, you mean that the TTR was too tall, you should know that the KX80 and 100 are both taller at the seat. The small wheel TTR has a seat height of 30.5 in and the KX80 is at 33.1. Both KX bikes are lighter,of course. Another factor to consider is whether you have ridden the large or small wheel TTR. There is an inch of difference in height between the two. If the bike you rode had a disc brake on the front wheel it was either an L or LE, it the front brake was a drum, it was the small wheel. If the KX80 turns out to be too big, the KX65 has a seat height of 29.9 inches, and has a much better power to weight ratio that of the TTR. If you think you will ever race your bike, go with the 80. At 12, you are too old to race a 65, the TTR's couldn't compete, and the KX100 isn't eligible for 80 beginner classes.
