My bike feels a little weak so I check the compression and only could get 130psi, cold engine. Is this really low because the service manual states 95-150 is the usable range??
A compression test doesn't tell you a whole lot unless you have something to compare it to...meaning compare it to other tests you took on the same bike in the same way with the same test equipment at an earlier time.
Generally considered acceptable facits of doing a (proper) compression test include a hot engine (not cold as you said) and holding the throttle open whilst kicking it.
Note not only the maximum psi you get but the number of kicks it takes to get there.
You can get an idea of ring/piston condition by putting some oil in the cylinder and checking it again. If the numbers go up considerably that is most likely due to the oil you put in acting as a ring/skirt sealer.
