Hello all, I'm replacing my head gasket on my 89 rmx250 and need to know the procedure? I'M looking for the head bolt torque specs and if I need to use any gasket sealer and of course any other helpful info. I'm using a Moose gasket and I'm only replacing the upper or top head gasket. My reason for the gasket job is that I ran into some deep water and swamped the motor. I took off the head flipped the bike upside down to drain the water , used a hair dryer in the cylinder for 2 hours cleaned the carbs airbox etc. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. :) Jeff

flush the bottom and top end out with gasoline to get out all the dirt. Once you start riding it again don´t stress the engine at all for the first 10 minutes.
If you have a new head gasket then you don´t need sealer. I used that automotive copper liquid sealer successfully when reusing a gasket but even that is taking a chance.
