Hey guys im new to the boards and new to dirtbikes....a little history....i just picked up a 1990 suzuki DR250S for $1200.
Heres the specs:
punched .030 over (20 minutes of run time on the new pistons and rings)
supposedly has aftermarket header (looks stock to me)
supertrapp slip on
new timing chain and guides
new dirt grabber clutch pack
new on/offroad tires
***rejetted carb***<---problems
Bad stuff:
missing left side frame cover
clutch lever broken off quite short,and the brake handle has the tip broken off of it.
bike has around 5500 miles and was never trail ridden,has everything needed to be put on the road.Was that a good deal or no?
Now for the problem im having...the guy that put it together,said he got it together yesterday,and it wouldnt run below 1/2 throttle.He went to adjust the carb and was reading in the manual,and noticed (he bought the bike in parts) that the carburetor was completely different,and is also the wrong carburetor.I cant get it running,i dont know what kind of carburetor is on it,all i know is you have to hold the plunger with your fingers from the opening if you want to start it.Where would i go to get the correct carburetor for my bike,and how much do they cost?Also,is there a specific model i should get for my bike?Thanks in advance,if you have any advice my email is [email protected] :nener:
