I was talking with one of my dads friends about possibly going riding and ya then he told me about a cr 250 basket case he was willing to give me. He bought it thinking it needed a top end but it needed a new crank. So far some of the engine parts are missing like carb and a lot of hardware. some parts are at his shop and some are at his house. He said needed $500 in parts 5 years ago when he pulled it apart. Is it even worth putting the frame back together? Is this a nice year for a cr? I want to work on it but it looks like it is in a state of no return.

This is a project that only the true of heart can do. It waill be comsuming most of your time and is fun. I have a friend that did the same thing with a 1994 CR125. It was missing the hole top end(including cycender) and the carb. But if you have time and money i would definataly go for it. Besides it was a good year for the CR.

is that all it needs is engine work? if everything else is in good shape then id say its worth it.
