Help 1998 cr125

So I just had my bottom and top end replaced a few rides ago, and I was out yesterday trail riding, and out of no where my 2nd gear started bogging down and ended up locking up. All other gears are completely fine, it's just 2nd gear not wanting to engage. I'm not sure if I can do anything without having to split my bottom end again, but any suggestions would be awesome I have a race I'm trying to attend this coming weekend

My guess would be something maybe wasn't assembled properly or just out of bad luck failed. Can you be more specific? You said it locked up and then that it just doesn't engage?
