Recently cleaned out the powervalve on my 1999 YZ250, when trying to remove the powervalve shaft, I threaded 1 of the 3 L-end bolt heads, now the l-end key just slips around. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I guess, if you can't purchase a new one, you can try a Helicoil, depending on the material (i.e. aluminum).
You first have to drill out the old threads. Use a tool to rethread, then you will screw in a helicoil that will act as your new threads. You may or may not need to buy a larger screw for that hole but that should work for you.
There are instructions all over the web on how to do this.
