I'm in the middle of a top-end rebuild and cleaned the power-valve while the cylinder is off, question is: Do I need to lube the power valve components with anything? I cleaned everything to look new and sprayed some WD40 on the parts to keep them from rusting while its apart and installed a new PV bearing but action is still a little rough.

Use a lithium based moly grease to lube it up.
Doesn't matter what thickness the grease is, as most of it will be pushed and burnt off. The moly will remain and help to plate the mating surfaces.
A moly fortified rebuild paste would be even better.

My service manual just says to use premix. the moly grease sounds like a good idea though, as I'm sure the premix just gets burnt off.
