OK, I finally got my Motorcycle Service Manual, 3 weeks after ordering it...but, that's another day's story. My question is if anyone know's what the stock, from the factory, Carburetor settings are for a 2000 KX125. I thought I had it all figured out when I got my Owner's Manual in the mail from Kawasaki awhile ago, but when I compared that with what it said in the Service Manual I just got, they differ, any ideas? They don't seem to agree on the main jet size, slow jet size, and Jet needle. I bought the bike used and I want to put the carbs back to stock so that I can have a starting point on setting them up. Another question I have is the copper crush washer for the exhaust, mine was junk when I took it apart so I have a replacement and I'm wondering if it matters which way I put it on. Does the flater side go towards the motor? Anyone know of anyplace on-line to order parts for my bike that won't take 3 weeks to get? :think

Don't put the stock jetting back on the 00 KX125, they had a jetting p[roblem stock and send a jetting kit to all owners, they drop the powerjet and the pilot big time, I don't remember exactly the numbers but mine was running like **** stock, it was fine with the new jets! I have a 250 now so I don't remember what I was running in my 125

Thanks...I think....

Wow, if I thought I had lost the breadcrumb trail, now I'm sure I did. Maybe that's the reason for the difference in the two manuals. You wouldn't happen to remember if the jetting kit from Kawasaki included a new needle and if it was a leaner or richer main jet. I'm going to try and make some phone calls and get this figured out. I see that your from Orlando, lucky, are there alot of good places to ride around there?

I think this is what is stock:

160 main
45 pilot
N7NW needle
#3 needle position
#6 slide
55 power jet
1.5 turns air screw

This is what was recommended in the kit that Steve47 referred to:

160 main
40 pilot
N7NW needle
#2 needle position
#6 slide
42 power jet
1.5 turns air screw

The needle position, pilot, and power jet were all changed to clean up the jetting at lower throttle openings. The running change is probably the reason the O/M and S/M do not agree. If you are having some jetting problems I would start with the jetting recommended in the kit first and go from there.

thank you

Thank you, that's the info I was looking for. You would'nt happen to know the best place to order the, pilot and powerjet from that won't take weeks to get would you?:think Hey Steve, if I was to bring my KX down to Daytona instead of my street bike, are there places that I would be able to ride around Orlando or Daytona?

KX125-L2

The way I understand it is that's the way the factory designates what year my KX is.
1999 - KX125-L1
KX250-L1
2000 - KX125-L2
KX250-L2
2001 - KX125-L3
KX250-L3
2002 - KX125-L4
KX250-L4

FNINJA,

Of course, lot's of nice tracks in Daytona/Orlando area. In fact Pax Trax is 20 min from Daytona and a lot of factory teams practice there before Daytona SX, last year team Yamaha was there(Mac Vuillemin and Ferry), let me know and I'll help you out.
