2001 Yamaha YZ125 Rebuild

Hi guys,

I have a few questions today. First off, I'm looking at purchasing a 2001 Yamaha YZ125 with a blown top end for 700 dollars. Is this a good purchase. Keep in mind I do want to do a full rebuild on this bike. If I do purchase it, could someone please list out everything I would need to buy in order to replace the whole top end. I know I have to replace the cylinder and the piston. What else would be key to doing a complete rebuild

Worst case, the piston skirt broke off and ruined the cases and cylinder.

You wont know until you open it up what all needs replaced.

like joe said tear it down and find out if you just need a cyl. you might need a head, maybe cases, so check it out.
