2002 WR426 throttle stop?

My son in law just got a wr426 and wants to shorten the stop. The pics @ ThumperTalk are of a "99 wr400 which he says look different than his bike. Are the carbs different?

The early fcr has the octopus hanging on it. It looks a little different but the directions apply.
I found it easier to remove the carb to work on it.
I just trimmed the stop till I got full slide opening.

FWIW, mine was 23 mm long after the cut, and the slide is now fully open without hitting the top.

We cut it from 33mm down to 25mm. We are going riding in the morning to see how it worked. Last Wednesday I spanked him with my KLX300, he should kill me now.
