2003 RM 250 stator, what years of stator will work?

Hello I have a 2003 RM 250 and I just bought a moose stator and its built buy Electro sport. My dealer told me it would work for a 2003 RM 250 and they said this stator would be a direct bolt on, but when I went to install it the connector is a different size it fits in but is still to small. Also the back plate looks identical to the stock one but it wont fit over the crank seal lip, I measured the stock one and this new one is about 2mm to tight. So I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these stators and if they had to do any modding, thanks.
