i am ordering a piston and ring set for my sons bike

the nice thing is that the people we bought the bike from gave as the box with the numbers of the piston that the bike takes. it is a 806M05000 CLEAR:0.0020(0.O51MM)

I HAVE FOUND SOME WITH THIS PART NUMBER AND IT SAYS A 50MM BORE AND the box says 51?

Did you bore it out? My manual says the stock bore is 48mm. Try to put the piston into the bore, and see if it goes in. If it doesn't, then return it. OR, you could bore it out the extra 2mm and use it. The reason it says CLEAR-.051mm, is because of the piston to cylinder wall clearance. The reason behind that, is because the piston expands through heat.

The piston is for a 50mm bore and should have .051mm piston to cylinder wall clearance. In other words the piston diameter is 49.949mm
