:thumb: I installed the PV spacer into the PV gov assembly under the clutch cover. It is a 1mm SS shim that goes on top of the first washer that the spring rides on. This is from looking at the gov assembly w/ the gear on the left. It basically increases the spring tension on the gov assembly for a more positive hit when it engages. Time will tell if this works or not, but we have like 17 feet of snow right now, so mabe by June we will see if it works- J

Thanks for the part #. I ordered today, can't wait to try it. I've got it running pretty well with just a V-Force and jetting, anxious to see how this works.

I gave the correct part number. I ordered it from the dealer and have the bag in my hand. The springs in the 2000 and 2004 and 2005 are different from those in the 01-03.

I went to the website you quoted and pulled the part numbers from there also. They are as follows:

2000 Part # 90501-30001-00
2001 through 2003 Part # 90501-26001-00
2004 & 2005 Part # 90501-30001-00

I went back and figured out where your number came from. You were looking at the torsion springs on the power valve actuator shaft. Those are the wrong springs.

We are talking about the Govenor Spring. Listed as #13 on the Govenor diagram. This is the spring that needs to be replaced.

Be sure to double check your facts before you come into a post and correct someone. Especially on a post this old.

Sorry, my fault!
I thought you meant the torsion springs since you were talking about the PV.
Yes, I know this post is old. But I got a Yamaha YZ 125 2001 and I couldn`t find the spring you were talking about.
