2006 110cc spark issues

I have a 2006 jackel 110cc Dirt bike I just picked up for my nephew, It has issues. It will spark for the first maybe 4 revoulutions of the motor. then nothing no spark, Iv cleaned and greased every conection on this thing, Cleaned every ground and replaced the coil. ....how do I know if my cdi is bad? Please help. thanks in advance jeff.

Well I went ahead and ordered a cdi today, hope it will fix it.

Got the new cdi today, It wasnt it. I got the stator resistance specs from jackel, and tested it. it was way off. So now I either have to buy a high dollar stator from jackel because i cant find one similar any where else....or just junk the chinese piece of crap. the welds on this thing make you wanna puke, 3 of them are broke and this bike only had a 100 lb rider. oh well it will make a good boat anchor.

the parts? The cdi was 35 the coil was 26, jackel is the only one that can get the stator and im still waiting for a call back from them on a price.

Seems if you spend much more it might be easier to put a Lifan or Jialing engine in it.

I've seen what's available on the cheap end of the spectrum and you're right the welds are crap, of course so is the actual metal the frames are made of as well. You might be getting a point where it would makes sense to cut your loses.

I had a pw80 for him before, It was an 83 and so much better quality.... are all these china bike companys like this?

Nope they are not all purveyors of crap, some make pretty darn nice products but they also cost quite a bit more than the cheap stuff. The big manufacturers and even aftermarket get pieces and assemblies from some of these same sources. The problem is so many times people don't grasp the concept that cheap is cheap and end up burned by getting a product that is built to a certian price point and no further.

I recently purchased some non-mission critical tools that are from China. A set of 4 automotive dollies and a 4 ton come-along. I spent a total of $108 including tax and must say I am quite happy with them thus far. The dolly assemblies even have ball bearing castors and once I shot the axles and castors with some MFT they move REALLY well. The come-along is made from laminated steel plates not cast pieces and it too seems to be plenty well made for the use I require.

Bottom line? Careful prepurchase inspection and a realization of the price point build will often keep you from being too disappointed.

Heres a tech question for ya, I found a cheapy stator off ebay for $25 It has 8 little coils in sted of the 4 bigger ones mine has, All the measurments they gave me match mine as well as bolt pattern, Its not listed for a specific model. Is it worth a shot or do they opperate at all different voltages?? Pickup coil looks the same, also..your thoughts?

The best way to tell which engine you have is to buy from a company that has a proven history of providing good solid products. Next to that there is typically a certification tag that virtually nobody provideds with bikes. Next up would be knowing what the various engines "look" like since they all have some different features. The problem there is that some of the low end companies try to duplicate the look of Lifan and Jialing thinking that will fool the buyer. I rarely have seen a quality engine from Lifan or Jialing in a bike under $1000. On those that I have it's been obvious the only thing of value was the engine.

Looks like a vertical cylinder and not a horizontal correct? If so there are fewer variations but those engines are also typically more expensive. It would seem to me that Jackel SHOULD be able to tell you who manufactures the engine.

Yes its the vertical, I got ahold of jackel today, they said the bike new is $1450 from them and the engine is a Kentech. ever hear of em?

Well ordered a new stator installed it, same problem intermitent,weak to no spark. IDK whats up with this cursed bike. Iv bypassed the kill switch, ignition, safty switch on clutch......

any ideas any one????

Im lost, still weak to intermitinent spark. I was grounding the plug to the frame to check for spark when I pulled it off the frame completly it would continue to spark till I let off the start button. I though it had to be grounded to get spark??


With the weak spark I can hold the plug and cant feel anything.

If the plug fires and isn't officially grounded you have a short some place that is grounding it for you.

I went through the wire harness 1 wire at a time, re-loomed and taped everything, it all looked good......

can someone explain what path everything goes from....because when I turn the bike over i have 12v going into the regulator, and only 1.3v out on the yellow, and pink wire? do those 1.3v wires power the cdi/stator stuff?

Unplug the Rectifier and kick it over do you still get weak to intermitinent spark?.
Yellow is usely for runing head ligth which low volt in tell motor get higher rpm then voltage go up, as for the pink wire if soild it should be red and it for the battery.

I just threw this back together and put it on ebay but, Is there a way the flywheel could be slipping or somthing? Every few kicks, or electric start revoulutions. the motor wont turn, When you kick and it slips feels like its in gear but its not. When the electric start slips, I gotta put it in gear and rock it back and forth,,,,,any thoughts?

Ok, iv took the wire harness completly off, I hooked it up just a basic way for the kickstart motors only. Can you tell me how much voltage i should get out of my pickup coil when kicking it over. I got shocked pretty good from the red and black wire from the stator, so i know its getting to the cdi. buts its not leaving the cdi, ITs either the pickup coil or cdi. I have hardly any voltage coming out of the pickup coil while kicking it over.

It could be you just got a bad CDI
I take that it a five way setup?
red/black wire from the stator is hot wire for the CDI I think to power up the coil where blue/white from pickup coil gose to CDI it should low voltage just tell the CDI when to fire.

the cdi has 6 wires
2 greens, Black/white kill, red/black from stator, blue/yellow from stator, yellow/black to coil.

Maybe the problem is with your Fly Wheel which has lost it radial magnetic
