Hey everybody, its been awhile since I've been on here. I've been enjoying probly the best bike ever built :) I'm planning on going out to the dunes this summer, yeah I know summer, its hot, but thats in Oklahoma, Little Sahara. I'm also going to Little Sahara in Utah(much cooler), then swing back down and catch the Farmington dunes in New Mexico to finish off the paddle tire. Any tips on getting ready for the dunes? I am going to put an 8 paddle paddle tire, take gearing to 13/52, or should I go lower, also change the needle in the carb to the one that gives it a bit more power, and what do you think about the SX silencer in the dunes. Also would it be a good idea to get the cooling fan? And last I am going to get the outerware rear shock cover, and I've got my big 10 foot flag. Anything else?

Thanks.

Sand eats engines. Good idea to take spare air filters, greased and ready to go, in plastic bags, and change them every day. Sand also eats bearings; keep them clean and lubed with anti-seize. Sand is, however, a lot of fun. Have a great time. By the way, I took my new 400 SX to the sands of New Mexico last month, and it was fantastic. Oh, one other tip; if you don't have a steering damper, get one. Lets you go down a sand wash one-handed, that's how good they are.
