The one in the photo has modified rear suspension which will likely bump it up from sportsman class to historic class, making it uncompetitive. I'd guess that a CZ 250 in good condition would be worth $2500. But with the suspension mods it is sort of, ruined.
I know nothing about CZs, but it seems like the shock mounts could be restored to the stock location. if that would broaden the appeal and increase the value, it might be worth doing.
I just sold a '74 380 red frame model for $1,000 BUT it was stock paint, stock shock mounts... the price goes down by 30-40% if the bike has changed. . $2500 in stock, running and in good shape. To get any value from it it needs to be stripped to the frame and painted correctly(it's the wrong color) and go from there.
thanks guys! I guess I'll pass on it then. I don't really have that much time to be tinkering anyway. I thought the shock setup looked stock, but what do I know. I was reading some of the AHRMA rules the other day and they do allow cutting and repositioning of shock mounts as long as the wheel travel remains no more than 4". This bikes setup looks to give 6-7" of travel.
