I recently bought a 96 XR 400 after riding my 76 KX 400 for the past ten years. I never raced it but I'm thinking of doing just that. The bike runs well and I just put a "new" pipe on it:eek:

Anybody out there got some vintage KX advice and can anyone tell me about vintage mx racing.

Thanks
Rick

skabeeb, you want to get hooked up with AHRMA. the 400 can run in the sportsman 500 class, (up to 75, also age classes). I also run a couple of 74 KX 450's in AHRMA.(cover of the 96 rule book) I am currently stuffing one of the 450 motors into a 78 250 frame :p Hope to have it ready by spring. Ahrma has a big event in Ocala area this Feb, CHECK IT OUT! better yet show up with your bike and ride. Great people and loads fo fun! I can get you a number or just visit there web site.

The race is actually in Reddick Fl, Marrion County. Just north of Ocala.
Date is March 2nd
If you want to race ,you have to pre-enter!
Post Vintage(newer than 74) runs on March 1st

You can call AHRMA for details and also check on your bike, the 75 ran as
a 74 because of very few changes, I think the 76 is about the same, not sure, when you call check.
