I picked up an 81 KDX80 for my son. It has points, condensor, one stator coil and one wire from the stator to the ignition coil.
Does anyone have the specs:
stator resistance
ignition coil primary, secondary resistances
points gap
Spark timing - presume outside flywheel mark lines up with "nub" in engine casing at any/or at a particular rpm - based on using old fashioned off the plug wire strobe light
As you might guess I haven't managed to get a factory manual.
If you're a keener with an actual 81 KDX80 bike stator you could estimate # coils and dia of stator coil wire - the coil I found in the bike (which may not be the correct one) has 0.022" dia wire by vernier over the insulation and looks to be about 70 coils per layer x 4 or 5 layers deep.
